J & P Cycles rider, Michael Beck turned up the heat at last weekends Barber Motorsports round of the Vance & Hines XR1200 series. Beck has steadily improved throughout the season and was looking to get his best finish to date. Beck qualified an impressive second and then, in the morning warm-up, was the fastest guy on the track. However the Barber race would not end the way he had hoped. Coming around the last turn on the first lap, just behind eventual winner Steve Rapp, Beck went into a violent tank slapper and was pitched from his bike. Luckily no major injuries for the young Californian and he will be ready for the next round of XR1200 action at Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course July 8-10, 2011.
