The XR1200′s have officially arrived in Daytona. Today was the day for the 20 XR1200 teams to get settled in and prepare their race bikes for tomorrow’s practice and qualifying. Many of the riders have had very little to no track time on a XR1200. But the lure of spec racing that’s affordable, has attracted the attention of racers from across the spectrum, including Super Moto, Motocross and Dirt Track, as well as big name road racers like Michael Barnes, Steve Rapp and Mr. Daytona himself, Scott Russell on the number 4 machine. It will be real interesting to see how quickly the newcomers adapt in practice and qualifying.
