Sturgis Rally Recap

The 71st Sturgis Motorcycle Rally marks the seventh year Vance & Hines has brought its Show Trucks to the Black Hills of South Dakota for what is without a doubt the biggest and most important v-twin event in the world. For many, it is an annual pilgrimage, journeying across the vast mountains and plains of North America to gather as a community that shares a passion for experiencing the world in a way that only a motorcycle can deliver.

And no rally spreads across such a wide space of land as Sturgis. Besides riding through the Black Hills, rally-goers will often ride as far west as Devil’s Tower in Wyoming and as far east as the Badlands National Park, regrouping along the saloon-lined Main Street in Sturgis to revel through the night.

In spite of the carnival-like atmosphere that surrounds the rally, Sturgis, more than any other motorcycling event, is still about the riding. And proof of this is in how many more touring motorcycles are seen on the roads in the Black Hills, compared to any other rally.

Vance & Hines recognizes this fact, and therefore produces a line of products tailored specifically for improving the drivability and performance of today’s Harley-Davidson Touring models, such as Throttlepak, designed to eliminate throttle lag on late model Touring bikes with throttle-by-wire systems, and slip-on mufflers like Monster Rounds and Ovals, engineered to increase torque and horsepower while maintaining deep, but more moderate sound levels.

Next up, Vance & Hines will be at Reno Street Vibrations in September. Keep up with all the latest at and
