Vance & Hines MX Team riders Steven Tokarski and Paul Coates were at Honey Lake Motocross Park this past weekend to compete in the Northwest Regional Qualifiers for this year’s Amateur National Championships at Loretta Lynn’s Ranch. Steven and Paul put in some fantastic races, with both riders successfully securing entries in their respective 250 and 450 classes for Loretta’s in August.
The Regional Qualifiers at Honey Lake follow a three moto format for each class to determine an overall result for the class. Those riders who finish with an overall result in the top four, advance to compete at the National Championships.
Having been on the mend from a couple of pre-season injuries, Steven proved that he has regained his form finishing 3rd overall in both the 250A and 450A classes, running fast and consistent all weekend. Steven posted 4th, 5th and 2nd place finishes in his 250 motos, with 3rd, 2nd and 4th place finishes in his 450 motos.
Paul went 1st overall in the 250B class with two 2nd place finishes and a win in the third moto. In the 450B class, Paul got the holeshot in the first moto, had a spill, but then recovered to 7th. Not shaken a bit, Paul took the holeshot again in his second and third motos, and went on to win both motos for 2nd overall, showing that he is going to be a top contender at Loretta’s this summer.
Next up, the Vance & Hines MX Team will be competing at the Monster Energy Mammoth Motocross, June 30th and July 1st. Keep up with all the latest at vanceandhines.com and at facebook.com/vanceandhines.
